AUGUSTA Chapter Event

Augusta Chapter is having another workshop with Lynn Payette in January 2006. Workshop dates are Thursday and Friday, January 26-27 at First Alliance Church in Augusta, Georgia. We will be stitching her charming Cricket piece, a sellout at National Seminar in Atlanta. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from such a wonderful teacher. Those of us who attended her Dragonfly workshop in 2005 had a wonderful time.

The cost of the workshop is $74.50 per person, a bargain compared to attending a seminar to take this class. The teaching fee of $25.00 is non-refundable and is due by December 5, 2005.  Kit fee is $49.50 and may be paid by January 2, 2006.

CRICKET

Cricket is a non-charted design mixing fabrics, fibers, stitches, beading, stumpwork techniques, and random pattern darning (background). Each “Cricket” will be an individual! Over-embellishing layers of manipulated bonded sheer fabrics, padding, layering and stuffing for stumpwork, beading (using a variety of different colors and types of beads, stitches and techniques), creating Crickets legs using a wrapped wire armature, and creating ‘cast shadows’ and dimension with stitches, techniques, color placement, and padding will be taught.

DESIGN AREA: 4 1/4 x 8 1/2

KIT CONTENTS: Pre-drawn design on Congress cloth, fibers, threads, heids, fabrics for finishing, wire, felt, stuffing cotton
