Laurel Chapter commemorative " Crystal Anniversary Pin" designed by past president Peggy O'Connor. Pink Swarovski crystals form the mountain laurel flower centerpiece, set off by Casalguidi leaves, and framed in a 4-sided stitch. Finished size about 1 inch square.

"How does the 4-sided stitch go again?"

We're ready to attach our crystals! Barbara Cole, left front, was a founding member.

Our fifteenth anniversary celebration started the year before with a year long chapter project, "Charlet's Sampler" by Jay Patterson and Pam Miller.  Instructions and materials were available  free to everyone who was a member of The Laurel Chapter during 2004.  Members had their choice of 18 count linen or 18 count mono canvas.  Fibers used were splendor, linen, and Bravo (variegated). Variations in the Bravo dye lots resulted in subtle differences between each piece, as did each stitcher's choice in deciding where to start the Bravo.  The sampler features both pulled and drawn thread.

About 35 signed up for the project, and 23 stitched samplers were presented during a special show 'n tell at the 15th anniversary party. In recognition of their achievements, each was awarded a gold EGA filigree charm.
