Magnolia Chapter

Charleston, South Carolina

Origin

Founded in 1978, Magnolia Chapter concentrates on educating its 33 members in all areas of needlework.

Meeting Information

Meets the second Sunday of each month, typically from 1:00 - 4:00 P.M. at The Meeting Place, 1077 E. Montague Street, Charleston, SC.

Programs cover various needlework projects taught by chapter members and, from time to time, local and national teachers.

Programs for 2005 include "Roszie's Pasture" by Betsy Morgan, a Nantucket basket with stumpwork; beading; and a linen basket class.  Members are also working on a stitch sampler in squares.  Participants are experiencing a variety of stitches, such as the four-sided stitch, Algerian eye, and rice stitch, and can choose to make a completed sampler, or individual squares finished as ornaments, pins, scissors fobs, or other small items.
