Carolinas Region
Correspondence Course Offerings
The
deadline for registering is November 28,
2009. This is the date by which the registration and
payment for the student's text must be received by the region's Education
Coordinator. Or, the registration form and check may be hand delivered at
the October 23-25, 2009,
Fall Retreat.
For 2010,
Carolinas Region is again offering 3 correspondence courses at a special deal to region members: Region will pay
the tuition and certain postage costs, while the students are responsible only
for the cost of the text and materials. Only members of the Carolinas
Region are eligible.
The 3 courses are: Ikebana,
an advanced pulled thread sampler by Ilse Altherr; Japanese Temari
Basics for Beginners by
Barbara Sues; and Lady Larkspur Necklace by Jeannette Carmichael. All three are also on the EGA
website.

Carolinas Region-sponsored Courses
In 2009, region
members had the opportunity to participate in Luan Callery's stumpwork
Hummingbird
and Honeysuckle; Morning
Glories, a pulled thread
sampler by Isle Altherr; and My Favorite
Bracelet, beaded, by Jeanette
Carmichael.
The 2008 classes: Beaded Nutcrackers
by Kathleen Rake, done in odd-count peyote; Meadowsweet by Sandy Rodgers;
and Swiss Sampler by Isle Altherr.
Classes for 2007 were
Color Play,
a beaded project emphasizing color theory, by Peggy Wright; Judy Jeroy's
Crewel Choices; and
Tiramisu, a blackwork band sampler by Dakota
Rogers.
The 2006 classes
were Pat Krahn's To
The Acorn
band
sampler and GRRCIA!, a 3-d cat on canvas by Dakota Rogers.
A total of 66 members throughout the region signed up; 47 for the band sampler,
and 19 for the cat.
In 2005, Carolinas Region offered
the
WHITE QUEEN,
a whitework sampler by Carolyn Webb, and Luan B. Callery's
VICTORIAN
BONNET featuring
raised embroidery, or stump work. Over fifty-two members
throughout the four states of the region signed up for the projects, 12 for the
bonnet and over 40 for the sampler.
