Community OutreachThe chapters of the region, both individually and collectively, engage in a number of initiatives to reach out to and share with our communities. Chapters use needle arts to raise community awareness about EGA , to help make our communities a better place, and to further the knowledge about needle arts. These activities range from fund raisers for worthy causes to stitched items for new Habitat for Humanity homeowners to public stitch-ins and exhibits to teaching needle arts to children to creating ecclesiastical embellishments. Refer to the individual chapter pages for more information about the activities of the chapters in the Carolinas Region. Contact the Chair of the Carolinas Region Community Outreach Committee with your ideas and comments. Carolinas Region recognizes outreach activities of its members by presenting chapters with Certificates of Appreciation at each Region Meeting. Chapters are requested to provide an annual report to the Chair of the Outreach Committee using the Outreach Reporting Form in either Word or PDF format. EGA made significant contributions throughout the country to The American Heart Association for Women's Heart Health Research through the sale of heart-themed designs. All donations to AHA are to benefit women's heart health research. |
